Duane is a Managing Director at AArete and leads the company’s Healthcare Payer practice. Duane advises health plans, MCO’s, PBM’s, administrators, and other healthcare services organizations on a multitude of performance improvement and operational matters. Duane is experienced in helping organizations in all stages of maturity and stability, from fast growth expansion to distressed environments.
Prior to AArete, Duane was a Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group and a Manager at Arthur Andersen. Duane has more than 15 years of experience working with organizations in a variety of industries including healthcare, financial services, transportation, diversified manufacturing, law firms, and higher education. Duane couples his expertise and perspective within the healthcare landscape with his broad business background to create innovative and tailored solutions directly targeting the challenges facing health care payers.
Duane has been a guest speaker and contributor to American Society for Healthcare Materials Management, Inside Supply Management, and Sourcing Interests Group. He has published articles on strategic cost reduction in Managed Healthcare Executive and Purchasing Today.
Duane received a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s JL Kellogg School of Management. Duane also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Transportation & Logistics and Production & Operations Management from The Ohio State University.
