Jim is a Managing Director at AArete. Jim has extensive global operations management experience, and is a recognized leader in achieving successful change management in the legal services industry and global banking/capital markets.
Prior to joining AArete in 2009, Jim was the Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director of White & Case L.L.P, a law firm operating in 25 countries with annual revenues over $1 billion. From 2005 to 2008, Jim also held the role of Chairman of the Executive Committee (Chief Executive Officer) of White & Case’s London office. Prior to joining White & Case, Jim was Senior Vice President of Chemical Bank, a predecessor bank to J.P. Morgan Chase, where his global responsibilities included accounting, management, financial analysis, budgeting, and income tax planning and compliance.
Jim holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance from Loyola University Maryland. Jim also earned a post MBA Certificate in International Finance from New York University, and is currently earning a Master’s in Global Affairs at New York University. Jim is also Certified Public Accountant. Jim has previously served on FASB task forces and as a leader of industry groups in the legal services and banking/capital markets industries in London and the United States.
Jim will rejoin the Loyola University Board of Trustees in September 2010. Jim was previously a member of the University's Board of Trustees for ten years through 2005, where he served as a member of the Executive Committee and the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is also a former member of the Board of Advisors to Loyola University's Sellinger School of Business. Jim is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and CEO Trust.
