Loren is the President and Co-founder of AArete. Loren’s primary focus is to create and mold AArete’s strategy and business solutions, while building lasting client relationships as a Managing Director. In addition to Loren’s client focus, he also plays a large role in thought leadership for the firm and is at the core of AArete’s Knowledge Management Center™. Loren’s most critical responsibility is one that he performs daily, demonstrating his passion for excellence throughout AArete and its clients.
Loren is currently focused on developing two new solutions to meet the specific challenges facing the financial services and healthcare industries. AArete's Healthcare Reform Solution will allow providers to manage their cost structure while ensuring compliance with new requirements. AArete's Post-Recession Financial Services Solution will assist organizations in finding innovative means for lowering business costs as they struggle to emerge leaner and more transparent.
Prior to AArete, Loren was the Managing Director and Practice Leader of Huron Consulting Group’s Strategic Sourcing group. Loren developed strategic sourcing solutions that were relevant to Huron industry niches, while also expanding service offerings into new growth industries. Loren expanded the 8 person, $1 million practice he started in 2002 to a $15.5 million practice within 5 years. Loren spent the first 16 years of his career at Arthur Andersen where he was a commercial auditor. In 1991, he and another Arthur Andersen Senior Partner co-founded the Strategic Sourcing practice for the entire organization. Loren was recognized with the Innovation Award at Arthur Andersen's annual business consulting meeting that same year.
Loren is the author of several articles on strategic sourcing and procurement and was recently a presenter at the Sourcing Interests Group's semi-annual conference. Loren is a member of AICPA, the Sourcing Interests Group, the Executive Club of Chicago, Rotary International, and also sits on a number of executive boards.
Loren received a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance & Accounting from the University of Chicago. Loren holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
In his free time Loren enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, playing golf, and reading.
