Skip is a Managing Director and the CFO of AArete.  In his role as CFO, Skip is responsible for all financial and administrative functions within the organization, including the establishment and implementation of financial & operational controls and procedures.  Skip’s diligence ensures the organization has the processes in place to operate both effectively and efficiently.  In addition to his role as CFO, Skip is also actively involved in business development and client relationship management as a Managing Director.

Prior to AArete, Skip held the position of CFO at a variety of organizations including, Momentum Capital, Speigel Catalog, and the internet start-up, Harrods Online, a joint venture of Harrods of Knightsbridge and Otto Versand, one of the world’s largest catalog companies.

In his role at Momentum Capital, Skip handled all aspects of the organization’s accounting, finance and public reporting responsibilities.  As CFO at Spiegel Catalog, a $750 million division of The Spiegel Group, Skip was responsible for accounting, financial planning, call center operations, and warehouse logistics.  Additionally, he had operational responsibility for the tri-channel outlet division of Spiegel Catalog, where overstock merchandise was liquidated through catalogs, internet and retail stores.  While there, Skip implemented new strategies to improve the liquidation of overstock merchandise and led cost cutting measures that resulted in the permanent elimination of $22 million of recurring costs.

Skip began his career at Arthur Andersen, where he worked for over 5 years as an accountant and was introduced to many members of AArete’s leadership team.  Skip is a certified public accountant and holds an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University.

In his free time Skip enjoys spending time with his wife and children, golfing, and watching soccer.
